Digital Citizenship
Practicing proper Digital Citizenship is important as we all learn to navigate this digital world. Your digital footprint is something that can follow you though your entire life. A negative footprint can hinder future opportunities while a positive footprint can open many doors for our students. Digital etiquette is an important piece to the Digital Citizenship puzzle as well. Using proper etiquette is just as important in the digital world as it is in the physical world. Use the resources on this page to invoke and aid discussion with your child.

"In education, technology can be a life-changer, a game changer, for kids who are both in school and out of school. Technology can bring textbooks to life. The Internet can connect students to their peers in other parts of the world. It can bridge the quality gaps."
-Queen Rania of Jordan

An example of how your Digital Footprint can resurface, even after being deleted, is current Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen. Tweets that contained racial slurs and offensive language that he posted while in High School (14 to 15 years old) potentially caused him being selected as the number 1 pick in the NFL draft. Since being drafted by the Buffalo Bills, Josh has worked diligently to become not only an elite NFL quarterback, but also an upstanding member of the Western New York community.
